Aromatherapy Series: Lavender

Our lavender candle is infused with lavender, orange, lemon, and cedarwood essential oils.

Lavender is one of the most widely used herbs for holistic health. Its name comes from the Latin word “lavare” which means “to wash.” Romans used lavender in their baths, beds, clothes, and hair. Its scent is common among air fresheners and soaps. And for good reason! Lavender’s aroma has been proven to ease anxiety and help with insomnia.

Cedarwood has also been used throughout history. Ancient Egyptians used it in some of their mummifying rituals, and because it has a relaxing, sedating effect on the mind, it was (and still is) often used in many spiritual practices. It has a sweet, earthy scent and is said to have anti-inflammatory properties. The trees are native to the Himalayas and certain Mediterranean areas, but they are now grown worldwide. Many people use its odor as an insect repellent.

This candle packs a punch of relaxing, refreshing scents. Breathe it in, feel invigorated, feel calm, sleep easy.
